Discipline of Kinetics

Built around a growing understanding of how matter interacts with itself, this discipline can manipulate everything from velocity and sound to electricity. It took quite some time for the world to understand why individuals whom could manipulate matter could also learn to control lightning.

The discipline's understanding is still limited on a fundamental level, but has been known for long enough for large swathes of spells to have been created - in both pre-modern and modern times magicians regularly finding themselves specialising rather than trying to understand the entire discipline and use it, especially as their effects rarely lend themselves to the same fields.

The discipline is broken up into three major trees - the common root between them while understood on the material level, is still being understood in the resonance.

• Inertial spells manipulate movement, velocity, and impact. From arresting or redirecting mass to allow it to levitate or float, to creating invisible, kinetic strikes.
• Sonic spells manipulate vibration, and can do everything from emulate sounds to perceive imminent earthquakes, along with rattling many materials into a shattered mess.
• Electricity spells control electrical charge and ionic transfer - perfect for creating lightning bolts, or manipulating stored energy.
