Domonik Shwerver is a cybertechnology engineer and cyberterrorist credited for the distribution of Cyberdeck technology to political and cyberterrorism groups across the world. Originally employed as Chief Systems Architect at CamTECH, Shwerver was dismissed after allegations of intellectual property theft and corporate espionage. Before he could be escorted from the premises, Shwerver launched the first known large-scale malware attack exploiting vulnerabilities in the Bridge digital architecture system, which was still in development. The attack caused catastrophic failures across CamTECH's systems, resulting in damages exceeding 1,400,000 Credits and the deaths of four personnel relying on experimental precision equipment.
Shwerver has evaded capture for years, despite extensive efforts by both governmental and corporate security forces. He is credited with multiple cyberterrorism activities, including destructive hacktivism that has targeted public and corporate infrastructure globally.
Former colleagues and employers describe Shwerver as eccentric and reclusive, refusing to collaborate with others and frequently attempting to claim credit for team efforts. Allegations of financial exploitation of his peers and unethical behavior further tarnish his reputation. CamTECH has publicly denounced Shwerver, discrediting his contributions to the Bridge system and emphasizing the collective efforts of their R&D teams.
Despite his notoriety, Shwerver has gained a cult following among anti-corporate groups and underground hacking communities, where he is often portrayed as a renegade visionary. CamTECH maintains ongoing cooperation with law enforcement and corporate security bodies, reiterating its commitment to seeing him brought to justice.
"Criminal, thief, liar - they will paint me in a frame of their own design and provide the lens to all to see it in their light. In doing this I accept the folly of my life's work. The Bridge, born of a hope to connect and empower all from the gods on their corporate thrones to the common man beneath them - to give all the power to create, design, build a world of their choosing. Instead they see in a tool to watch, to twist, to control and sell and build upon the mountain of wealth and power to which they already clutch to. Too many of you spoke to ears too proud to hear, too late do I hear your warnings. It is theirs now, to use, exploit, to corrupt it with greed. I can offer only time to prepare. Let not the platform of technology become your shackles. The Bridge will come - with these, cut free its supports."
- Domonik Shwerver, 30 minutes before release of the Broken Slate Daemon and release of the first publically available Cybertech design.
Domonik has aptly earned the title of 'The First Decker'. The original designer of the Bridge processing network, Domonik is a visionary who sees the potential of technology for all of us - a naïve but genuine vision none the less. Over the past fifteen years he has released multiple versions of the Cyberdeck designs with versions ranging from those designed for a corporate R&D lab-diver, to the first collection of chips and wires you can scavenge from your local barrens, while similarly developing common daemons and tools.
He was last seen six years ago when a publicised raid on a runner den showed brief footage of a person strongly resembling Shwerver. It is unknown if Shwerver escaped custody, and none in the community have heard from him since.
Suffice it to say, Domonik has some of the largest bounties currently around for a merc - and should anyone cash it in, they will likely earn bounties of their own from our community. Play it safe, chooms.
