Niyala's first moon, Noraz, is a large moon with an orbital period of 26 days.
It is predominantly responsible for the tides, though Plion's existence often causes oppositional forces that limit its effect. Noraz has a dull-gray, heavily cratered appearance and is visible even in the daytime sky to the naked eye when illuminated by the sun.
Noraz has been visited by astronauts multiple times, and a single multinational station has been set up on the moon for occasional scientific work, though it is typically unmanned and operated by drones and AI. The Noraz Moonbase has been consistently criticised by various corporations for inefficiencies and failures over its history, attributed to a lack of specialised services being rendered — having been built almost entirely by government-funded bodies.
Notably however, Phoenix Corporation has successfully set up their own station on Noraz as well where Helium-3 is mined with partial success. This base is highly restricted, and has been a point of contention with multiple nations where initial agreements and permissions have been tested.
