The United Mivalan City-States, known often by their shorter name the UMCS, is a political and economic union of (currently) 19 City-States dotted across Mivala and surrounding territory, including 3 Megacorporate Citystates.

UMCS's influence on individual city-states is minor, with the union initially resolved as an alliance-oriented means of managing shared, external threats such as resisting economic or political pressures from larger political bodies, coordinating military efforts, and recently attempting to provide some limitation to Megacorporate influence into politics.

The UMCS maintains claims of political authority over any badlands and 'unclaimed' territory within its sphere of influence, though incidents of this authority being stated, nevertheless used, have been rare.

Opinions on the UMCS can vary wildly — often due to a perceived lack of interest in aiding in any internal issues within their member city-states. Outposts, towns, and trading posts outside of city-state protection tend to be Pro-UMCS — as during any dangers or events, UMCS will organize military efforts from nearby city-states in the interest of maintaining overall stability. On the other hand, individuals within less prosperous city-states tend to have a low opinion.
